Once I committed myself to this project it was impossible to think of short sentences without already pondering their usefulness

Kreuzberg Skulptur The idea for the flyingKreuzberg is a view of a building perched on the rim of a canal off the Spree River in Berlin. Francesca was deeply enthralled by this view as it presents a graffitied lettering reminiscent of Byzantine script. A landscape offering this juxtaposition, between the graffiti painted on the post war apartment building, next to bare winter trees, and ultramarine blue waters, is surreal. Made with oil paint on stretched canvas, Francesca captures Berlin
