The 2016 Ferrari California T represents the evolution of Ferrari’s modern grand touring convertible. The original California debuted in 2008 as Ferrari’s first front-engine V8 convertible with a retractable hardtop. It was designed to attract drivers who wanted Ferrari performance with everyday comfort and usability.
In 2014, Ferrari introduced the California T, marking the return of turbocharged engines to the brand’s road cars after decades. The model improved performance, efficiency, and technology while maintaining the elegant grand touring character that made the California popular worldwide.
Performance & Engineering
The 2016 Ferrari California T is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing approximately 553 horsepower and 755 Nm of torque. This engine delivers strong acceleration while maintaining impressive responsiveness.
The car accelerates from 0–100 km/h in about 3.6 seconds, while the top speed reaches roughly 316 km/h. Power is delivered through Ferrari’s advanced 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, providing fast and smooth gear changes.
Ferrari also improved the turbo system to minimize lag and preserve the sharp throttle response expected from a Ferrari sports car.
