The Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG represents one of the most iconic high-performance versions of the legendary G-Class lineup from Mercedes-Benz. Originally developed as a military vehicle in 1979, the G-Class built its reputation on durability, off-road capability, and timeless design.

The Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG is powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces approximately 500 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The supercharger delivers immediate throttle response and strong acceleration across the rev range.

Power is transmitted through a 5-speed automatic transmission and the permanent all-wheel-drive system, ensuring traction in both urban and off-road environments. Despite its large size and off-road capability, the G55 AMG can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in around 5.5 seconds, impressive for a heavy luxury SUV.

AMG engineers also upgraded the braking system and suspension to handle the increased performance.

Design & Aesthetics

The G55 AMG maintains the classic boxy silhouette that has defined the G-Class for decades. Its upright windshield, flat body panels, and bold stance create one of the most recognizable designs in the automotive world.

AMG styling details include larger alloy wheels, distinctive side-exit exhaust pipes, and performance-oriented front bumpers. These elements give the vehicle a more aggressive and powerful appearance.
