The Ferrari 296 GTS represents a new era of performance innovation for Ferrari. Introduced as the open-top version of the 296 GTB, the 296 GTS combines Ferrari’s racing heritage with advanced hybrid technology.

The model holds special significance because it introduces a V6 hybrid powertrain to Ferrari’s modern road-car lineup while maintaining the emotional driving experience associated with the brand. Ferrari previously used V6 engines in historic motorsport programs, but the 296 series marked the return of this configuration in a road-going Ferrari.

The “GTS” designation stands for Gran Turismo Spider, continuing Ferrari’s tradition of high-performance convertible models designed to blend speed with open-air driving enjoyment.

Performance & Engineering

The Ferrari 296 GTS is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor. Together, the hybrid system produces approximately 819 horsepower, making the 296 GTS one of Ferrari’s most advanced performance cars.

The supercar accelerates from 0–100 km/h in around 2.9 seconds, while the top speed exceeds 330 km/h. Ferrari paired the hybrid system with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering rapid gear changes and immediate power delivery.

The plug-in hybrid system also allows the car to operate in fully electric mode for short distances, improving efficiency and versatility during city driving.
